Collaboration with other home business entrepreneurs or small business owners has the potential to multiply your business impact. The first step in realizing the potential of collaboration is finding potential partners.
So what is the key to finding home business owners with whom you can collaborate?
Watch my latest video and ask yourself: Where can I find other home business owners with whom I might collaborate for mutual benefit?
Now consider the various “places” mentioned in the video. What is the common thread? What is the most important set of skills that you need for developing collaborations with other entrepreneurs?
I believe the answer is networking skills. Both offline and online. There are some aspects of networking that are applicable in both realms. For example, all of the following networking quickie tips apply to offline and online:
- Be a value giver
- Follow up with gratitude
- Introduce colleagues to others that can be helpful
- Take the initiative to get to know others
- Be accessible
Granted, those are quick bullets. Not much meat. But a person with networking skills knows what these things mean intuitively. Do you?
In the video, I recommend two books. They do a good job of the many books available, in describing and teaching networking skills. Check them out.
